Bargain Weekend Ministry marks 4 years

On the Feast of Christ the King (November 25) the Santa Rosa, Arima Bargain Weekend ministry celebrated its fourth anniversary.  This group was created to help parishioners with necessary goods and services below market prices, and also to evangelise the community.

We celebrated in style with giveaways, two raffle drawings and a fundraiser barbecue for our toy drive. The vendors were ecstatic about our anniversary presentation display. Parishioners and non-parishioners supported this venture.

Thanks to all who helped to make this celebration a success: Noelia, for the great flyers and PR work each month; Marcelline for putting the hampers together and for arranging some giveaways. That was an excellent initiative. In addition, thanks for cooperating with the bell/bugle-ringing activity. Thanks, Thanks, brothers and sisters for a good display of team spirit and belief in the idea.

Finally, the fundraiser barbecue: notwithstanding the hiccups and late delivery of service, the support from the parish and elsewhere was great for a first-time venture. I am optimistic that we should be able to meet the toy drive for the children after all expenses are cleared. I must thank the team members for their support and hard work – Arnold Thomas, former team coordinator
