Providence girls, St Francis boys lunch with Archbishop*

A few select of us from Providence Girls’ Catholic School and St Francis Boys College, were invited to meet and have lunch with Archbishop Charles Jason Gordon of Port of Spain on Monday, November 12 and we could not have been more honoured and grateful for this invitation.

His Grace welcomed us into his home and everyone including his staff treated us very kindly and made us all feel comfortable.

It is wonderful that His Grace was interested in speaking with the young people in our Catholic community and willing to answer any question we may have had. The experience was thrilling and we all shared in genuine conversations with him which was truly a privilege. We got to meet new people and see their perspectives and His Grace ensured that we interacted with each other and not only with him. He also provided us with advice about life, gave us a history of his home and even let us explore a little!

On behalf of everyone who was invited, I would like to thank His Grace again for being so thoughtful and kind in dedicating a few hours of his time to sit down with us and engage in conversation.—Xayla Kowlessar, student
