Pope Francis has appointed Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu, Titular Archbishop of Acquaviva as Apostolic Nuncio in Belize.

In the past, the nunciature to Belize was combined with the nunciature to El Salvador, although the Diocese of Belize City-Belmopan is part of the Antilles Episcopal Conference.
Archbishop Nwachukwu is Apostolic Nuncio to Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Jamaica, Republic of Guyana, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Apostolic Delegate for the Antilles. He was appointed Apostolic Nuncio this year to St Lucia, Bahamas and Grenada on February 27 and in Suriname on March 3.
