CCR youth calling

Youth between the ages of 12-–21 are invited to participate in the annual Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) Youth Rally Saturday, October 20 at Bishop Anstey Trinity College East, Trincity. This year’s fifth edition themed The Call is hosted by the CCR Youth Arm.

The all-day event serves as an opportunity for youth to engage in fellowship, have an encounter with Christ and to freely express their questions/concerns of their faith. Youth 21 years and under are free; over 21 contribute $50.

Following registration at 6.30 a.m. the day’s programme commences at 8.30 a.m. with a talk ‘A Call to a relationship with Christ’ by Fr Simon Peter Ango of the Mayaro/Manzanilla cluster.

Next on the agenda includes break, praise and worship and engaging workshop sessions. Topics include ‘Is the Eucharist Real?’, Valerie Walters; ‘The Holy Spirit and Social Media’, Keith Patrick; ‘How to suit up with God’s armour’, Peter Timothy; ‘Today’s  Adolescents’, Jean Marc Acham; ‘The power of music and symbols’, ‘Mission’, Brenda Blake and Glenda Aguste; ‘How do you defend your faith with your peers’, Wendy Patrick; and ‘Discovering your purpose’.

Confession and Counselling will be available during the course of the rally.

After lunch, youth will experience praise and worship sessions, performances of dance and Spoken Word, testimonies, empowerment and healing.

The youth rally will conclude with a Mass by parish priest of the Arouca/Maloney cluster Fr Jason Boatswain at 3.30 p.m.- KJ
