‘Sexual Revolution: 50 Years Since Humanae Vitae’

In honour of the 50^th anniversary of the prophetic document of the Catholic Church called Humanae Vitae, BOMA-TT, a Ministry of the Archdiocesan Family Life Commission, is hosting a screening of ‘Sexual Revolution: 50 Years Since Humanae Vitae’.

This movie is an exciting and beautifully made documentary telling some little-known history about the Sexual Revolution. It highlights the fallout of the free-love experiment against the backdrop of Pope Paul VI’s 1968 encyclical about love, sex and marriage.

The centrepiece of the film is the dramatic life story of Alana Newman, a talented recording artist who goes from being an activist for feminism and sexual freedom to giving up her promising musical career for life, family, and love.

The screenings can be viewed by all ages and will be held at three locations. The premiere takes place on Friday, October 12 at the St Dominic’s Pastoral Centre, Four Roads, Diego Martin from 6.30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $50 for adults, $25 for teenagers and free for children.

The second screening takes place on Saturday, October 13 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Hall, Harris Promenade, San Fernando from 3 to 5.30 p.m. The third screening is on Friday, October 19 at the Church of the Holy Spirit Parish Hall, Subero Street, Malabar, Arima from 6.45 to 9 p.m. Cost is free at both venues, however generous contributions are welcome to assist with covering the cost of hosting this event.
