Chaguanas First Communion on Corpus Christi

The Chaguanas parish held its Family Day on May 27 at the Presentation College grounds, Chaguanas. Prior to the event, Fr Derek Anton preached the mantra he used over the Lenten period, “Give the Lord permission in your life”. This followed through to our Family Day.
Patrons and parishioners were treated to a variety of entertainers, including Raquel Winchester, Chosen Generation, ‘Positive’, Caselle George Band and the Prison’s Band. One parishioner who gave of his time and talent on the day was comedian/soca artiste, Sunny Bling.
Apart from the musical entertainment, the traditional and some not-so-traditional stalls provided a wealth of activities and opportunities for the parish family to get to know each other.
Former parish priests, Msgr Allan Ventour and Fr Christopher Lumsden were seen meeting and greeting parishioners.
The preparation for the event, the celebration of Holy Mass, the hosting of the stalls, and volunteering to assist in the various activities, encouraged us all to work together as a family. -Monica Rogers-Fletcher.
