“On our First Communion Day, we the little children say, thank you, Jesus.” These were the beautiful words from the Meditation Song done by the new communicants on the solemnity of Corpus Christi (May 31). Seventy-seven boys and girls of the parish St Philip and St James, Chaguanas received Jesus for the first time in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
Their participation in the Mass included the Readings, The Responsorial Psalm, Prayers of the Faithful, Presentation of the Gifts and singing of the Meditation Song.
Mass was followed by the Corpus Christi solemn procession through the streets of Chaguanas, with Benediction at a nearby shopping mall.
On Sunday June 3, the children came out to Mass in First Communion attire to receive their Second
