Fatima statue finds a home

On Saturday, May 12, in celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, the Archbishop’s Appeal will unveil the enclosure for the Our Lady of Fatima statue to the public at the Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Curepe.

Archbishop Jason Gordon will celebrate Mass at 6.30 p.m. Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu has been invited. Before Mass, a neighbourhood procession begins at 4.30 p.m. followed by devotional songs from 5.45 – 6.15 p.m.

The base of the statue contains soil from Fatima, Portugal and remnants of the Holm Oak tree on which the Blessed Mother appeared. Last year the statue was carried to select schools and parishes in every cluster, and over 100,000 rosaries were distributed.
