St Theresa’s Kindergarten pupils observe Lent, celebrate Easter

Fr Taylor receives the box full of snacks for less fortunate children.

The pupils of St Theresa’s Kindergarten, St Charles Educational Academy, Tunapuna, learnt about sacrifice during the Lenten observance and the significance of Easter.

This year the children of Level 2 gave up their snacks for the 40 day period.

This small daily sacrifice resulted in a box filled with snacks being handed over to the Parish Priest Fr Ian Taylor for distribution to less fortunate children of the area. The children also shared with Fr Taylor and the parish secretary their understanding of the gesture and the importance of the Lenten and Easter seasons.

The day ended with the children making Easter baskets, cupcakes and crafts, and enjoying hot cross buns donated by a parent. St Theresa’s Kindergarten wishes all a Holy Easter Season. –Tricia Marie Rousseau
