Fr Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Mohammed, 83, died peacefully on Saturday, February 17 at Champs Wellness Centre, La Romaine. His funeral Mass was to be celebrated at 10 a.m. last Friday at St Theresa’s RC Church, Woodbrook.
Fr Mohammed was born in Carapichaima and lived for many years in St James.
He was ordained to the priesthood on September 25, 1960 by then Archbishop Finbar Ryan OP.
During his 50-plus years of active service, he served in the parishes of Erin, Mt Lambert, Delaford (Tobago), Laventille/Morvant, Santa Rosa, Cedros, Penal and his last post at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, San Fernando.
Fr Mohammed was secretary at Archbishop’s House before he was given a scholarship to study Catholic Communications in the United Kingdom. He was also actively involved with the Society of St Vincent de Paul as Spiritual Director.
