Eight student members of the Presentation Association for Life and Service (PALS) society journeyed to the Brasso RC Primary on December 14. The visit was part of a twinning exercise between Presentation College, Chaguanas and Brasso RC Primary, a joint concept between the two school administrations and blessed by the Catholic Education Board of Management.
Under the twinning process, infrastructural and pedagogical needs of the Brasso RC are to be addressed, and a robust cross-fertilisation of ideas and school cultures would flow between these two Catholic institutions for the mutual benefit of all staff and students.
Founded in 1979, the PALS society of Presentation College, Chaguanas has as its mission the attention and consideration of the less fortunate throughout the year, instilling in students the absolute need to render unto others the many blessings they have received in their lives. Accompanied by their Principal Gary Ribeiro, the Pres students held a mini concert for the pupils, singing Christmas songs for and with their young friends, performing a motivational skit, and bringing their message ‘Your presence is a gift’ to their delighted audience.
The young men mingled and shared experiences with their younger counterparts, presenting Christmas gifts and party bags to every Brasso pupil, and treated all the staff and pupils to a sumptuous lunch as well. In turn, Brasso RC pupils sang a medley of Michael Jackson songs for their visitors. – Story and photos courtesy Presentation College
