Christmas was a little easier for Leoline Reis of Crystal Stream, Diego Martin, whose home got some sprucing up before Christmas.
She was the winner of Catholic Media Services Ltd (CAMSEL) ‘Relax This Christmas’ promotion in which $10,000 in cleaning for a parish and $2,500 worth of cleaning of a home was up for grabs. Entries came in from across the country with some persons completing multiple submissions. It was Reis who was drawn as the winner on December 8. “I am glad they came and cleaned,” she told the Catholic News.
At the presentation ceremony at the Church of the Nativity, Crystal Stream on December 15 CAMSEL’s Marketing Officer Shervon Penco congratulated Reis and Moderator for the Diego Martin/Petit Valley/Crystal Stream cluster, Fr Christopher Lumsden, who received the prize for the parish.
Also on hand to commend the winners was Executive Vice President of Magic Mist Services Ltd Wayne Herbert, and Brandice Walker, Manager, Specialist Services Division. Fr Harold Imamshah, sacristan Theo Oliver, and parish representative Jennifer Augustus attended.
Contacted about the prize Fr Lumsden said, “It is a wonderful Christmas gift to the church and we are happy to receive it.” The cleaning of the church will take place next year.
Herbert said the prize sponsored went beyond the individual parishioner; it extended to the church they attended. Herbert said this can bring a sense of satisfaction and achievement that they are able to give back to their place of worship, and to God. “When I saw her expression winning and what the church was getting, you can’t put a value on that,” he added.
The other promotion winners were presented with their prizes at CAMSEL’s office last Wednesday. They were: 2nd prize winner, Bernadine Joseph-Sankar, who received two return tickets to Grenada courtesy Caribbean Airlines, and accommodations for two at Coyaba Beach Resort, Grenada; 3rd prize winner Eileen Chrysostom, who will receive a hot stone massage courtesy Spa Euphoria; 4th, Patricia Chin Pang, a gift voucher courtesy Mode Alive; 5th, Sheree Ann Bharat, a T&Z Home Improvement hamper; 6th, Andrew Charles, a gift set courtesy Cher Mere; and 7th, Elizabeth Rodriguez-Seijas, a hamper courtesy Fine Choice Meats.
CAMSEL’s General Manager Lucille Nathu was very pleased with the promotion and for the partnership with Magic Mist. She said that “for its first year the promotion was a success”. Parishioners can look forward to another ‘Relax this Christmas’ in 2018.
