“A roomful of winners.” These were the opening words of General Manager Lucille Nathu, at the presentation of prizes to the successful pupils in Catholic Media Services Limited’s (CAMSEL) ‘From Trinidad and Tobago with Love’ initiative, which was a slight departure from the ‘Create a Crèche’ competition run every year.

‘From Trinidad and Tobago with Love’ held at its core Hospitality for our brothers and sisters in Dominica. Schools were invited to submit along with their cards, toys and foodstuff which will be shipped to the children of Dominica in time for Christmas.

The cover of the cards had to reflect some aspect of hospitality and allowed for the children to be as creative as possible. In the inside was an outline of the crèche scene also to be decorated. Altogether 11 boxes of toys, 21 boxes of groceries, and close to 2,000 cards were packed for Dominica from Trinidad and Tobago with love.

Thanks to our judges of the finalists: Peter Sheppard, President of the Trinidad and Tobago Art Society, and artists Clayton de Freitas and Rosemary Parkinson; and to our sponsors, Office Authority, Five Islands Amusement Park, Catholic Education Board of Management, Snikla, Island Babies, and Excellent Stores.
