Farewell, Fr Rosario

Parishioners of the Arima/Malabar cluster said farewell to Fr Rosario Aguilar Serrato last Monday at a concelebrated Mass at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Malabar. Fr Rosario, an Augustinian priest, is returning to his homeland, Mexico.

Archbishop Joseph Harris was the main celebrant at the Mass. Concelebrating priests were Fr Steve Duncan, moderator of the Arima/Malabar cluster; Frs Matthew d’Hereaux, Pax Jey-Sharwan VC, and Simon Peter Ango. Rev Paul Bousignac assisted.

Arima Mayor Lisa Morris-Julian and Santa Rosa First Peoples’ Chief Ricardo Bharath Hernandez were among the congregation. Before the final blessing, tribute was paid to Fr Rosario for his ministry not only to the cluster but to the archdiocese. Besides Arima, Fr Rosario also ministered in San Fernando and Carapichaima.
