Holy Faith Preparatory (St Bernadette’s) celebrated the centennial year of the Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima on Wednesday, October 11.

The morning assembly began with the statue of Our Lady of Fatima being placed centre stage in the Assembly Hall.  Vice Principal Rosalie Jacob then invited the students to sing the Marian hymn, ‘Dear Lady of Fatima’. Principal Jasmin Mathura accompanied them on guitar.

The first and second decades of the Joyful Mysteries were prayed in the hall. At the start of the third decade, two pupils, carrying the statue, led the procession of teachers and pupils around the school. The pupils carried freshly cut flowers, with which they adorned the statue when the procession returned to the hall, while singing, ‘Immaculate Mary’.

Jacob ended the assembly, encouraging pupils to pray the rosary daily. – Nadja Nabbie, staff member
