CIC Hall of Fame inducts first female

Carmen Acham-Chen will become the first female inductee in the St Mary’s College Hall of Fame. The induction will take place Saturday, October 21 at the college’s Centenary Hall. Acham-Chen was the first female teacher at the College and has coached hundreds of CIC students in elocution.

Also being inducted will be Archbishop Joseph Harris; Makandal Daaga (formerly Geddes Granger); Quinton O’Connor, a prominent trade unionist and politician who served from the 1930s to the 1950s; and Rev Everson Sieunarine, former long-serving Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Trinidad and Tobago.

The College’s Hall of Fame, since its inception in 1997, has inducted 91 individuals some of which include: Archbishop Anthony Pantin, Fr Gerry Pantin and Clive Pantin; Andre Tanker; Dr Joseph Lennox Pawan; Raymond Quevado, ‘Atilla the Hun’; and Professor Courtenay Bartholomew.
