Storyteller celebrates birthday with ‘When Moon Shine…’

Paul Keen Douglas

The annual Tim Tim storytelling show will take place at NAPA on Saturday, October 28 and Sunday 29. Entitled ‘When Moon Shine…A 75th Birthday Celebration of Stories” this year’s production is dedicated to the work of Paul Keens-Douglas as he marks his 75th   birthday.

Paul has been an integral part of the Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean literary and theatrical landscape for the past 42 years, creating his own niche, and producing an outstanding body of work. Colleagues will join Paul on stage to reminisce and highlight some of these remarkable and outstanding pieces, recreating those magic moments of yesteryear, when we used to tell stories, talk to each other, and just enjoy each other’s company. It was in this telling and talking and listening that were the beginnings of the understanding.

Those taking part in the role of narrators are Avion Crooks, well known for her theatrical and storytelling ability, as Tanti Merle; Farida Chapman and Miguel Browne both seasoned stage performers, storyteller par excellence; Lalonde Ochoa, a rising star of the National Theatre Arts Company; and Johann Keens-Douglas, Paul’s son. This year’s special guest is popular entertainer Arthur Marcial, the One-Man Band.

It will be an evening of top quality family entertainment, ideal for teachers, students, literary enthusiasts and those Paul Keens-Douglas fans. The show will also see the official launching of Paul’s new website,

www.pkeensdouglas.com.

Tickets cost $200 and are available at Crosby’s, Cleve’s (Frederick Street), RIK- Gulf City/Trincity, and NAPA Box Office. Follow us on Facebook @pkeensdouglas
