The Tortuga parish held its popular annual harvest on September 3. A procession with statue of the Our Lady of Montserrat started the day, followed with Mass celebrated by parish priest Fr Jose Marie Thekkekutte MSFS.
In these Elmo Griffith photos, Julianna Jade Squires, bassist (left) and Shania Augustus, guitarist, accompany the Tortuga Church Choir at the Mass. “We have been friends for a very long time, long before we became members of the church choir. We share the same musical passion and one day we decided to do something else other than just singing and playing in the choir. We got together with some friends who share our passion and the result was the formation of the band Gifted.”
Parishioners were entertained at the harvest by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Band, and later on by Los Dynamicos Parang Band.
