After the indefinite closure of the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (The Cathedral) on Monday 9th April, 2012, there would be the continued celebration of Masses and services, but at new and different locations.

Location A:

The meeting room (usually called the hall) which is to the immediate left of the main entrance to the Catholic Centre (opposite the Cathedral’s southern side) will now be called the “Cathedral Blessed Sacrament Chapel.” This chapel will be accessible from 6.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Monday to Friday. On Saturdays it will be open from 6.00 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. The Chapel will remain closed on Sundays.

This temporary chapel will not serve as a centre for public Masses, since it is too small a venue. Instead, it serves as a sacred meeting place for private devotions, those who attend the first Friday all night vigil, Mary Immaculate Prayer Group, and for any group, of no more than 35 persons, that is in need of a space to meet in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.

Location B:

The new venue, for the continued weekday celebrations of the midday and evening Masses and Communion Services, is the Nelson Street Girls’ R.C. School Annex.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – Masses @ 12.00 noon and 5.00 p.m.

Wednesday – Mass 12.00 noon

Thursday & Friday – 4.15 p.m. Confession

Saturday – Mass 7.00 a.m.

Location C:

Sacred Heart Church on Richmond Street, Port of Spain, is now the new place of worship on weekends.

Saturday 5.30 p.m.

Sunday 6.30 a.m. 9.00 a.m. 11.00 a.m. 6.00 p.m.

Weekday Masses:

Tuesday – Friday 6.30 a.m. 12.00 noon

Monday 6.30 a.m. 11.30 a.m. (followed by Towers of Strength Prayer Group)
