Youth Jamboree in San Fernando |
The Archdiocesan Youth Commission will host a Youth Jamboree, Solidarity II, with the theme – Viva Católica. Solidarity II will be staged under the patronage of His Grace the most Reverend Edward J. Gilbert, Archbishop of Port-of-Spain. This celebration will be hosted by the Southern Vicariate and will take place at San Fernando Hill on Sunday, July 24. The event will serve as a grand send off for the 102 youth and young adults of the Archdiocese registered with the Commission to attend World Youth Day celebrations in Madrid, Spain in August. It is also a unique opportunity to mark the beginning of the second pastoral priority of the Archdiocese, Revitalising Catholic Culture and Identity. In a real way, this event is the starting point for implementing the Strategic Plan for Youth and Young Adult ministry 2011-2014 following the Youth Conversations held in 2010/2011. We seek to collaborate with all our parish communities to celebrate and express our unique identity and culture as Trinbagonian Catholic Christians in these demanding and challenging times. All regional Vicars, priests, religious, parents, youth and young adults are invited to promote this event and to attend.
