Evangelisation – a new way ahead (Catholic News, October 23rd 2011)
CHAIRMAN: Episcopal Vicar for Evangelisation, Fr Robert Christo
Fr Christo comes from very humble beginnings in St James where he experienced a very diverse culture growing up. “I never saw division,” says Fr Christo, “while most people learnt about ecumenism in the classroom, I learnt it ‘in the yard’. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from UWI with majors in Computer Science, Mathematics and Economics and worked in the banking sector before receiving a scholarship to study for his Masters in Management Information Systems in New York. In 2001 he resigned from his job at the bank and entered the household of the Living Water Community and in 2002 he entered the seminary. On December 16, 2007, Robert Christo was ordained to the presbyterate.
He remembers being on a retreat, in his youth and having to find an object to describe his life. He found a broken piece of ceramic and hearing a prophetic word come to him saying “Feed my sheep, tend my lambs”. These were Jesus’ words to Peter and words which Fr Robert Christo has come to live by.

Catholics in the Workplace
The Association of Catholics in the Workplace (CiW) was founded in the Archdiocese of Port of Spain in January 2012 in response to the Synod Resolution #2 under the New Evangelization.
The goal under the New Evangelization is: That all Catholics come to know Jesus and live their lives animated by His love, example and values resulting in the evangelization of culture and integral human development.
Resolution #2 is: Be it resolved that the Archdiocese at all levels develop programmes for the evangelization of special groups e.g. men, women, married couples, singles, divorced etc alongside other interest groups such as artists, media, politicians etc.
CiW functions under the umbrella of the Evangelization Commission and it brings together a network of working people, committed to the Catholic faith, the service of humanity, evangelization and engagement in the social mission of the Church.
